It's much more of a modern "World of Warcraft" type MMOG than a DnD type MMOG though, but it does include some Forgotten Realms monsters. Now you absolutely don't have to do that at all, but it's a bit obnoxious to me to constantly keep pushing them at you. It's also free to play but they dangle chests in front of you constantly that you can only open if you purchase keys with cash. It doesn't really care if you group with people or not for the vast majority of the game. Neverwinter MMO is a lot of fun, but it almost has the opposite game play of DDO in that regard. Now that was years ago so I have no idea how it's changed since then. It definitely felt more DnD-like than other MMOGs I've played. It was also extremely difficult for most classes to do anything solo which made it worse. I know the multi-part quest issue is the same in most games, but when all of the quests are that way it's a problem. It made it very difficult to find groups to play with if you weren't planning it out with people you already knew. At the time its quest system was pretty annoying in that pretty much all of the quests you were doing were multi-part and if someone wasn't at the same stage at you they couldn't get any benefit from joining you doing it. I only played DDO when it was first released, for a few months.
